I was featured!!

Many of you know that I am a thrifty and recycling kinda gal (yipiee!), so I am soo happy that this simple recycling craft was featured today at this wonderful blog, which I really enjoy, Reduce, Reuse, Upcycle.

Onesies Banner

Hi!

For the baby shower  banner I once again used my beloved local thrift store never ending supplies of cheap goodies: yes, real onesies for the banner!

All I did was to cut letters (Cricut) for the phrase " It's a boy" 

I used scrapbooking tape

With some cute dollar store yellow duck clips I attached the onesies to each other and to some ribbon ( for the ends). SOOOOOOOO  frustrated tough, that the photo of the banner at the window is this dark and crappy ..soo sorry!

One has to use his imagination here to imagine how cute it was!!

For the baby shower, I used the colour combination brown blue and orange, and one of my inspirations was this scrapbook paper I got at Michael's for 20 cents a piece.

And I KNEW I was going to make (copy , yes) them to the baby shower. So I did!!

She has all the step by step there, very nice, but I will show you here as well, because for mine babies,  I added a little twist ( wink wink)

So, gather your material:

Googly  eyes

Diapers ( mine, from thrift store, NEW and dirt cheap)

Baby socks ( 1 dollar a pair)

Wash cloths

Now, the  birth of a diaper baby:

Secure with safety pins

The hat Just crunch the cute little sock

Hot glue the eyes

Some babies nap more than others, so some are sleeping like a ..baby! ( sharpie pens sleepy eyes)

Oh my , I am in love, they are soo cute!

My contribution to the diaper baby world:

I asked the mommy to  give me some cute/fun facts about them ( mommy and daddy), and I attached these to the babies and scattered them all over the room during the shower, as part of the decor. The guests would read them, learn a bit more about the happy parents-to-be and also share good laughs!
