Up cycling a thrift store painting

Hi Everyone!

For those we follow my blog and craft adventures over the years, you know I LOVE chalkboard paint and using it in the most diverse way possible. These are a few I have done before, here, here, here, here  , here , and here :)

I had this huge painting , not original of course, ( the base was wooden board) I had got a while ago from Vallue Village, tried to funky it up with oil pen and it was a faaaaaaail! lol
So it had been  getting dust in my basement ever since. Now that I am blogging again I decided to make something so I made this Bible verse frame. I plan to change the verse every week.

Materials:

Chalkboard paint
Foam brush
Small brush for corners
Sand paper
Spray paint
Chalk

I spray painted the frame and the painting itself, then used the chalkboard paint with the foam roller

Sanded for a distressed look
Picked this week's verse
And ready!

5-min Doll Dress from Sweater Sleeve

Hi!
This one is an awesome idea and I can't take credit for it..it was all my creative girl's idea, and execution!
So proud of my 9 year old..my young crafter!
I recycle  old wool sweater into hats ( to be posted) and one day she asked me for one sleeve.
I gave her and she came up with this:
...drum roll....
A beautiful and thrifty dress for her Kit Kitridge AG!
Fold sleeve in half
Cut the little tiny holes
Can you see?hehe

She also crafted a snazzy belt:)

Sad Chairs revamping

Hi!

A friend of mine gave me thse 2 old chairs for free. I loved them from the start because of their small size, clean lines and solid wood frame.
But, c'mon, they were too drab, too stuck in the 80's, too "dental office" ..too sad!

Solution: Get some happy fabric and refinish these sweeties.

I got this tropical (so me!!) fabric at my local fabric shop on sale and it took me 10 min to finish this first  part of this beautification.

How sad...:(

Always start stapling from the middle, pulling the fabric really tight, working you way out.
Be patient when making the corners, it will pay off !
I decided to remove the back cushion, as it looks not so heavy and formal.
Now to the second part: I need to decide what colour to use to refinish the wood. Suggestions are welcome!
Thanks!!
