The Birth of an Elf

Hi!

Sofia finally got the visit of the Elf. She has an Elf now. I made one:). Call me nuts. I am!LOL

Just not willing to pay  $30 bucks for one and a book.

I bought a vintage head ( LOVE IT!) on  Etsy for $ 9 bucks.

I had all the material at home already , and in half an hour I put the  mischievous little creature together.

I must say I was surprised how good it turned out! And most importantly Sofia approved and loves him!

 The wire inside makes it possible to put my Elf in any position necessary for the mischievous acts to follow:)

 I used hot glue  to make the head extra attached to the filling inside

 Arms and legs were sewed into place

 Mischievous  boy/girl..I heard the poor Barbie girls cry....

 Sofia asked me for a girl elf...so , here comes a skirt...with an embroidered snowflake:)

 

And her/ his name is Snowflake:)

You can see we are having fun with this boy..or girl... this year hahah

I must say, our homemade Elf is as mischievous and the store bought ones! hahaha

Advent Calendar

Hi!

I love the Christmas Season. And despite loving to decorate, visit friends, shopping, carols, hyms,  I really love about Christmas season for one and only reason: Jesus. Our Saviour. 

And what I cherish the most and take very seriously is to show and teach Sofia the importance of giving Jesus the most important place during this Season.

So, every year my priority s tohave the advent Calendar we do every year since she was 2 erady by December  1st.

And this is the first "decor" piece to go up in the house.

every year I change it a bit and this year I changed it a lot.

Because I found this scrapbook paper among my stuff (??!!) and couldn't believe I forgot I had it!

 I used it in a scrapbook frame I have and it was perfect to hide the daily Bible Verses reading we do with Sofia every night of December!

 We use the wonderful devotional from  Good Morning Girls for kids, just so sweet and simple and  full of wonderful truth!

 Instead of envelops in the rail this year I used small bags on  the window sill.

Inside, pieces of the Nativity or little gifts for Sofia.

She looks forward every night to her reading, prayer and opening of the bags, of course:)

Burlap Christmas Wreath

Hi!

This year I decided to use the same burlap wreath I used for Fall ,just updating the chevron bow          It is now red and not so pretty:(.

I also  added some Christmas bells. To make it more festive. Christmas is here!

Despite the sloppy job I did in the chevron,  I like it anyways:)
