Revamping table and chairs: New Breakfast Nook

Hi!

We are just through the paintaking process of painting our entire house in the best DIY style.

My sunroom has now a camling, almost white blue colour that depending on the light is acqua or green ( love it!), and the dark table I had in a corner was just not belongung any longer.

I decided to revamp it with gray chalk paint, distress it and revamp the chairs as well.

So here it goes:

Firts I primed with my TO GO primer , Kilnz

After 2 coats of chalk paint

Distress.....

snazzy!

Now to chairs...Despite loving the fabric I had not far long ago used to refurbish the cushions, it didnt belong anymore as well

I used two differenr fabrics.. jsut to be different and because I couldn't pick...love both!

I love my new corner !

"Tacky" Foam Head

Hi!

I love foam heads and love even more revamping them. ( see them here)

This time, I was in teh mood for tacks...lots of them!

I will not lie, it is A LOOOOOOT of work, took me weeks, little by little, but the final result is to my liking...what do you thnk?:)

Sprinkles Rack

Last week I found this spice rack at the thrift store for 2 dollars and, although I knew I did not need more storage for my glitter, embellishments and little things alike, I knew I should have it... 2 bucks with all the cute little glasses, I couldn't resist!

Driving home I already knew what to do with it!

Next day, straight to the hardware store to buy red spray paint...

This humble and despised spice rack was going to be revamped into a cute and very "necessary"  ( for whoever has a 4 year old who loves to help you in the kitchen, mainly at baking time...get it?)..

SPRINKLES RACK!

 First, I sanded it lightly 

 To  spray paint I like to put the object inside a cardboard box, and always outside..weather cooperated that day:0)

 Three coats later and sanding to give it a worn out look...( my husband ever understands this stage!)

 It was ready for the new colourful new inhabitants!!

Now it lives in its new home, in my kitchen ready  for my lil' one baking fun ( with mommy of course!)

Gotta run and buy more of Sofia's s spices" :0)

Summer hat into Spring/Easter bonnet

I was looking for an Easter bonnet for my DD but didn't want to go looking for one,pure "shopping laziness " I guess...

After looking in her stuff I found this summer hat that she never enjoyed that much as it was a bit floppy. I realized that if I turned the front ( where the button is) to the back and used it in a more upright way it would be a perfect....bonnet!

Needless to say she loved it! (these pics are from last eater, when I still did not have this blog)

Take a summer hat...

Turn it sideways...and turn the front into the back part...can you see it already? YES!!!

But it needed some" embellishment, so I stitched a cute lacy border , put some ribbon it ( to keep it from flying away) and as always, why not a cute flower? For the flower just get a piece of ribbon, make loose stitches on the bottom lengthwise, pull it to ruffle , secure with a knot, wrap it in a flower shape, stitch all the layers together and you have a ruffle flower!

And here she is!! my model feeling very happy!

She wore a bonnet...with a ribbon on it..I loove this song ( Galway shawl) , doesn't it remind you of it?

And...Isn't it ( and she) adorable?
