Take a make break and treat yourself...With beautiful jewelry!!

I am finally here again after my first craft fair (a post will be ready soon!) and I so happy to be back to my "make" mode ...I was missing that!

And what a better way than  taking a break of everything else, grabing a nice cup of hot chocolate ( snowing here today!)  and craft some beautiful pieces for myself in....10 minutes!

How?

Beads Direct, a beading company in the UK, sent me a delightful  package couple of weeks ago. Two pieces to be made along with a very cute mug and some goodies (humm...love the chocolate!). Of course,  I couldn't wait to Take a Make Break and make them!

Look what I got!

Sooo easy: First, I cut the rubber to fit.  I decided to give the bracelet some loops , so I cut it long. Next step, to glue the rhinestone to the hardware, attach it to the rubber ( with a  dab of glue. I used the one Bead Direct provided me , but E-6000 would work perfectly as well.

Ready, in 5 minutes, and oh so gorgeous!

Next kit is yummy too!

Same process, and I also wanted loops, loops, loops around my wrist, so I cut the chord long again.

Secret: it doubles as a belt :)

I would say, a statement piece...just the way I like it!

And , oh yeah, enjoying my chocolate break while making them!

New Items at the Shop

As some of you know I just started a Etsy shop and  I've  been working hard on it, so far I realized that there are sooo many vendors over there that is really had dot be noticed...sniff sniff..but I am working hard on that!

Here are some new items I just added to Pick me a Rose, ready to be picked!

Wire T-Shirt Scarf

Hi!

For my luck, my husband didn't want this promo T-shirt he got in a Congress, so I snapped it right away..a new  T-shirt for me to play with, yahoo!! Besides, it has a beautiful navy colour!!

Another T-shirt scarf coming...but this time I wanted to give it a little twist..so I used some silver wire to make some rings to embellish it.

I love it!!

What I used:

1. Hubby despised T shirt

2. A glue stick (what for??? you will see!)

3. Cut Plier

4. Fabric Glue

5. Needle and Thread

6. Scissors

7. Silver Plated artisan wire 1.02 mm

Cut the shirt strips , 1 inch each

Now you have lots of strips

Stretch them as in here 

 

Now...to make the rings....glue stick! 

Wrap around...

I removed form the stick after some loops in order to make a knot, then put it back again to finish the loops

Remove  the loops from the glue stick

Another knot

Now to the fabric...get all the strips together

Cut the whole thing in half

Now we have 2 ends

Insert the perfectly round ( wink wink) rings

You can keep them separate in different points of the scarf or join them together, you can play around with them

To join the ends again, one by one with needle and thread

After all of them are tied together again, cut a small rectangle piece of fabric to finish off like below

If you stretch this piece of fabric  you will get a nice round edge

I used just a dab of glue this time, as the ones here, although I love them and use a lot, I think the back it is a bit bulky because I used way too much glue

This  time I nailed it!

Ready!

Isn't it nice? You can use tight to the neck as well..

 Or in one long loop

Me, the model, ah that neck...good thing is going to be hidden...age showing...sad times gals..:0(

PUURFECT for those not so cold days of fall here on the island when a warm neck warms the whole body!
