Transforming a dollar store wreath

Hi!
This one is ano brainer: why pay $$$ for a wreath if you can easily take a dollar store one , some cheap ornaments and revamp it?
All it takes is Ribbon, ornaments and hot glue gun.

Sad Chairs revamping

Hi!

A friend of mine gave me thse 2 old chairs for free. I loved them from the start because of their small size, clean lines and solid wood frame.
But, c'mon, they were too drab, too stuck in the 80's, too "dental office" ..too sad!

Solution: Get some happy fabric and refinish these sweeties.

I got this tropical (so me!!) fabric at my local fabric shop on sale and it took me 10 min to finish this first  part of this beautification.

How sad...:(

Always start stapling from the middle, pulling the fabric really tight, working you way out.
Be patient when making the corners, it will pay off !
I decided to remove the back cushion, as it looks not so heavy and formal.
Now to the second part: I need to decide what colour to use to refinish the wood. Suggestions are welcome!
Thanks!!

An Old Case Revamped with Burlap

Hi!

A while ago, I bought his case, suitcase, cytlery box, I dunno exactly what it is, at my local most favourite thrift store in the whole wide world:).
I did not have a clue what to do with it tough, lol.
But I had my eye on that hardware, simply loved it (italian!!). Maybe reuse it and throuw the "box"away

Well, it had been forgotten in my house for months, when a trip to Michael's gave me the idea , finally, what to do with it.
Some of you who follow this blog know that I love to spray paint everything ! But somehow I did not want to spray pain this one.
When I saw this gorgeous burlap at Michael's I knew it!
$ 6.99! Nice price for an unique decor piece uh?
Cover it!! With spray (!!) adhesive, the job was done in no time.

I spray painted (!!haha!!) the hardware and the box?case? cutlery box? suitcase?
It  sits now in my living room, spreading its charm everywhere :)

Adding Colour to Thrift Store Crates

Hi!
I was looking for some shelving units to display my mason jars in my table at the craft fairs.
Did not hve much look finding those shelving units or anything like it, but found these crates at the thrift store for $1.99 each. A bit pricey I thought, but they were perfect!
From this...
To this!
Started out with  one coat of Krylon spray paint ( Cerulean Blue) .Very plain..no charm! This left them begging for something else! Not to worry...
Adding my walnut gel stain
I left the stain longer  on the corners before wiping in order to have a more concentrated colour on those sides
Ready to be wiped
With and without the stain
After wiping

Still deciding  if I should attach them on top of each other or not...For now they are loose. I used them last week and they worked that  way. Nobody knocked them down.
Another big win  for thrift stores, uh?

Old Dresser into Bathroom Vanity

We renovated our tiny bathroom. A real DIY,  we did it all ourselves. It took months, but we did it! ( and I will finally  post it  here, soon!).
I had decided that I wanted this for my bathroom:
An old dresser transformed into sink vanity.
After searching Kijiji for some weeks,  I found a perfect one  for 30 bucks! yay !
It was in a very bad shape in terms of painting, but had very good bones, a nice shape, made of solid wood and small - it had to be small as I had a small space to work with.
Someone had tried to paint it ...poor soul...on top of layers of old paint, no priming or sanding apparently. When I started sanding this is what I found: layers of old paint ( white, brown and green!)
I must say it took me "FOREVA"to  get rid of all the layers and get to the bare wood, but I did it eventually....had to, uh?
Look at this beauty
Now to priming. I necessarily did not to do this, as it was totally sanded, but because it would be going in the bathroom, I wanted the paint to stick real good and forever:). I used the primer I love the most: Kilz, oil primer. It is the king of primers in my opinion. It rocks even in nasty laminate. I used it in this laminate cabinet, and I could not be more pleased!
I would be sanding the edges for an antique look, so I used good ol' black craft paint in strategic places.

Primed. Now to paint. I used Swiss Coffee by Behr, love this shade of white. It was the same I used on my cabinet, and I kinda wanted them both to match.
I filled the old hardware holes with wood filler and put these gorgeous glass ones, form Home Depot. Pricey, but beautiful. And I had saved sooo much in my cabinet that I gave myself the right to  ..ahem..splurge:)

And here it is, my  bathroom vanity ready for her next adventure! a sink on top! ( keep tuned, wink wink!)
