Birthday party - I

Yesterday my little lady turned 6. We had a little sweet party at home only us and her aunt and cousins as everybody else we love  live away...

She got flowers with love...from daddy

Tomorrow she will have  her school and church friends at her party, so lots of fun yet to come.

Rainbow Party Loot Bag

I have many of these paper bags available as I bought tons last year for my craft fairs.
So I decided to use them somehow and not spend more $ to buy new colourful bags.
But  the party is a rainbow themed one...we need colours, uh?

 What I did:
I cut the handles, punched a circle to be filled in with the little mini rainbow notebook I made with scrapbook paper. Very simple but adds the rainbow to the
bag!

Rainbow Party Bow Ties and Hair Bow Clip

Sofia is having a  rainbow party tomorrow . I know, I know I ALSO thought this years party would be a non themed one...oh well... Her 6 the birthday.
She asked for a theme. And I said..yes :)
But as the party won't be at home, it is gonna be a quite subdued version of the madness I have  done in previous years :)
But me being "me",  I had to have some little things, so I came up with little  rainbow bow tie for the boys  and colourful flowers for the girls.
The birthday girl will have a huge rainbow hair clip on her hair. Her request.
I bought cheap ribbon at Dollarama
Rainbow!!!
Machine  stitched them together
Cut 12 inches long pieces, stitched them together

Elastic thread

Cover with ribbon
Another ribbon with velcro attached

Flowers....
And bow ties go well together!
Flowers and Bow ties go well together
Now to Sofia's hair bow clip I cut a longer piece of my rainbow, again with the elastic thread tied in the middle and then covered with ribbon.

Attached an alligator clip

Ready

My rainbow girl!

Making Fabric Rosettes, the Lazy Way

Almost every night I stay for hours in my craft room making items for my shop/fairs while hubby and Sofia are in bed in quite and peaceful slumber.
Sometimes, at the end of my "shift", I  still want to go on making my rosettes, but the whole process can take time, roll, thread, sew, thread needle again, etc etc etc, and I am usually pretty tired around 1:30 am.
The other day I strated doing this to save me time, at least at night, when I would be too tired to make anything, but with this method I can go halfway and finish them off next day.

I simply roll the rosettes, do not sew but keep it together with pins

Next day, more rested, I finish them off, and it has worked for me, being more productive. It works for me:)

Easy DIY Necklace

For all of you girls out there who love to make your own accessories but somethims think it is hard , an easy one:
All you need is a chain, one of these pendants add-ons, some pearls, a flat nose plier and a cutter plier   and E-600 glue.
I bought the chain already assembled at Michael's, so all I had to do was to cut it halfway and connect both ends to the add-on
WIth the E-600 very powerful glue attach the pearls carefully. This is the most patience defying art of this craft, but it works!
Turned out good!
