Back to School Revamped Desk

Hi!
School days are quickly approaching and I am so glad I got this project finished.
Sofia's desk! Yes, now my baby (!!??) is going to grade 1 and I thought she needed/deserved a little study corner of her own.
I found this beautiful roll top desk on Kijiji for 20 dollars. Real wood. Heavy. Needing some TLC.
I primed it with Kilz primer, and painted it with Behr Swiss Coffee.
Distressed a bit... no, distressed a lot!

I tried a balck knob for new hardware but for some reason it did not click to me.

Found these bronzed color square ones at Home Depot and they clicked:)

I painted the pull out board with chalkboard spray paint so Sofia can write, do her math, her drawings, etc.

This dollar store message board was attached to the door for her/my sweet  little notes

  1. Fantastic job!!! It is ironic to me, seeing all the art supplies you have there for Sophia, the markers, pencil crayons, etc...and yet mine has all the same supplies and they collect dust more than anything...

  3. What a great find and what a lovely makeover. I especially like that you can shut the top to control the clutter! This desk will be a great study site for your daughter for many years to come and maybe even some day for a grand child!

  4. I love the desk makeover. Wonderful job. I need to do something with my dining room set and am thinking about doing it the way you did the desk, white and shabby. Thanks for the inspiration. Linda
