Adding Colour to Thrift Store Crates

Hi!
I was looking for some shelving units to display my mason jars in my table at the craft fairs.
Did not hve much look finding those shelving units or anything like it, but found these crates at the thrift store for $1.99 each. A bit pricey I thought, but they were perfect!
From this...
To this!
Started out with  one coat of Krylon spray paint ( Cerulean Blue) .Very plain..no charm! This left them begging for something else! Not to worry...
Adding my walnut gel stain
I left the stain longer  on the corners before wiping in order to have a more concentrated colour on those sides
Ready to be wiped
With and without the stain
After wiping

Still deciding  if I should attach them on top of each other or not...For now they are loose. I used them last week and they worked that  way. Nobody knocked them down.
Another big win  for thrift stores, uh?

  2. Gosh, you made those crates cute! And if it was me, the worry would not have been someone else knocking them down, it would have been of ME knocking my own crates down! Gosh, I'm SUCH a spaz! And I SO am not kidding...but wish I was! Kidding that is.
